Edward Dmytryk's 1952 "Mutiny" plunges viewers into the high-stakes world of the War of 1812, where a young American captain, James Marshall (Mark Stevens), is tasked with a perilous mission: to breach the British blockade and secure vital gold bullion from France. The film skillfully weaves a narrative of naval warfare with an undercurrent of intrigue, particularly as the crew, led by the enigmatic first mate Ben Waldridge (Patric Knowles), learns of the precious cargo. Angela Lansbury, in an early role, adds a compelling presence as Leslie, a woman entangled with Waldridge and the allure of gold.
