MURDEROUS TRANCE

Cinemavixion Review

"Murderous Trance" plunges viewers into the unsettling world of 1950s Denmark, weaving a narrative inspired by a series of chilling hypnosis-related crimes. Anchored by strong performances from Pilou Asbæk as the determined investigator Anders Olsen and Josh Lucas as the enigmatic hypnotist Björn Schow Nielsen, the film skillfully navigates the complexities of mental manipulation and criminal investigation. Director Arto Halonen crafts a tense atmosphere, drawing the audience into Olsen's increasingly personal pursuit of truth as the case blurs the lines between reality and psychological control. While the film may not reach blockbuster status, its intriguing premise and solid execution offer a compelling dive into a unique criminal case, making it a noteworthy watch for fans of psychological thrillers.
