MURDER WITH MUSIC

Cinemavixion Review

George P. Quigley's "Murder with Music" from 1941 is a charming, albeit brief, musical mystery that showcases the vibrant talents of its cast. The plot, revolving around the beautiful Nellie Hill and a deadly admirer, serves as a delightful backdrop for a series of engaging musical numbers. Bob Howard and Milton Williams lend their considerable vocal and performance skills, while Nellie Hill herself is a captivating presence. The film offers a glimpse into the Black entertainment scene of the era, blending crime intrigue with song and dance. While its IMDb rating suggests a modest reception, the film's energy and performance-driven narrative make it a worthwhile watch for fans of vintage musicals and lighthearted whodunits.
