MURDER: A FAMILY BUSINESS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the dark heart of a family fractured by violence, presenting the harrowing true story of Louis van Schoor and his daughter, Sabrina. The narrative unfolds with a chilling premise: in the 1980s, Louis van Schoor was implicated in the deaths of 39 men, a staggering toll from his time as a security guard. Years later, his daughter Sabrina received a 25-year sentence for orchestrating the murder of her own mother. The documentary's most disturbing revelation is the period between October 2002 and October 2004, when both father and daughter were incarcerated in the same East London prison, Fort Glamorgan, albeit in separate wings. This unique proximity, given their shared history of bloodshed, forms the unsettling core of this compelling true crime account, raising profound questions about inherited trauma and the cyclical nature of violence.
