MUIRHOUSE

Cinemavixion Review

Tanzeal Rahim's 'Muirhouse' plunges viewers into a chilling narrative of isolation and terror, framed as found footage documenting an author's ill-fated solo expedition. Set in the reputedly haunted 'Monte Cristo' homestead, the film expertly builds suspense as Phillip Muirhouse, portrayed with palpable unease by Iain P.F. McDonald, transgresses the cardinal rule of ghost hunting: never go alone. The visual documentation, interspersed with the stark reality of his impending arrest, creates a disquieting atmosphere that lingers long after the credits roll. While the film may not boast mainstream accolades, its commitment to a raw, unsettling exploration of the unknown, driven by a compelling performance and Rahim's focused direction, makes it a noteworthy piece for fans of psychological horror and found-footage cinema.
