MST3K: THE SLIME PEOPLE

Cinemavixion Review

Mystery Science Theater 3000's take on "The Slime People" offers a unique viewing experience, blending low-budget 1950s sci-fi schlock with the show's signature brand of witty, often absurd, commentary. The premise of alien invaders posing a threat to humanity is a classic trope, but here it serves as a mere canvas for Joel Hodgson and his robot companions, Mike Nelson, Tom Servo, and Crow T. Robot, to unleash their comedic genius. The added segments, such as Crow and Servo putting Commander Cody on trial, further enhance the meta-narrative, turning the viewing of the film itself into a hilarious spectacle. It's a testament to MST3K's enduring appeal that even a forgotten B-movie can be transformed into such an entertaining and rewatchable program.
