MST3K 517: BEGINNING OF THE END

Cinemavixion Review

Mystery Science Theater 3000's 517th experiment takes on the 1957 B-movie, "Beginning of the End." This particular installment features the crew enduring a tale of giant, rampaging grasshoppers threatening humanity. As is the hallmark of MST3K, the film's earnest, albeit dated, special effects and predictable plot are ripe for the comedic dissection by Joel, Mike, and the bots. The addition of Servo's stand-up routine offers a delightful break, showcasing the show's signature blend of cinematic mockery and original sketch comedy. It's a prime example of how MST3K elevates schlocky cinema into genuinely entertaining television, proving that even the most rudimentary creature features can become fodder for laughter and surprisingly insightful commentary on filmmaking itself.
