MST3K 407: THE KILLER SHREWS

Cinemavixion Review

Mystery Science Theater 3000's take on "The Killer Shrews" (1959) offers a unique blend of B-movie schlock and sharp comedic commentary. While the original film itself is a creature feature notable for its diminutive, yet menacing, antagonists and earnest, if somewhat stilted, performances, it's the MST3K crew's riffing that truly elevates the experience. Their witty observations and playful mockery transform the film's inherent B-movie charm into a laugh-out-loud spectacle. The episode highlights the show's signature formula: finding the humor in cinematic missteps and celebrating the cult classics that time forgot. It's a testament to the enduring appeal of both "The Killer Shrews" and the inimitable style of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
