MOONDANCE ALEXANDER

Cinemavixion Review

Discovered on streaming, "Moondance Alexander" is a charming family drama that, despite its modest box office ($37,895), offers a heartwarming tale of perseverance and self-discovery. Directed by Michael Damian, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Janeen Damian, the film stars Kay Panabaker as Moondance, a spirited teenager who finds an unlikely champion in a lost pinto pony named Checkers. With the help of the gruff Dante Longpre (Don Johnson) and her supportive mother (Lori Loughlin), Moondance embarks on a journey to train Checkers for the Bow Valley Classic. The film beautifully illustrates the power of individuality and loyalty, proving that with enough determination, one can indeed land in the winner's circle. While it may have garnered a modest 6.2 rating on IMDb and received 5 wins and 1 nomination, "Moondance Alexander" is a feel-good movie that resonates with its uplifting message.
