MONKEY FIST, FLOATING SNAKE

Cinemavixion Review

"Monkey Fist, Floating Snake" unfurls a classic martial arts narrative, centering on a humble waiter thrust into the world of a formidable martial art. The tale gains momentum as he trains under a skilled barber, a master of the titular Monkey Fist style. Their peaceful existence is soon threatened by a powerful Snake Fist warlord, setting the stage for a dramatic confrontation. The film promises a compelling display of stylized combat and a narrative arc that explores themes of mentorship and the struggle against tyranny. This 1980 release, directed by Chi Lo and featuring Chan Mu-Chuan, Yueh Hua, Chen Sing, and Eddy Ko, is a worthy exploration of the wuxia genre, offering a glimpse into the intricate choreography and dramatic tension that define these cinematic traditions.
