MISSION: BLOOD VENGEANCE

Cinemavixion Review

In "Mission: Blood Vengeance," director Phillip Ko delivers a gritty martial arts spectacle from 1987. The film centers on John Foley, a Vietnam veteran whose elite skills are unleashed in a quest for vengeance. Teaming up with a father seeking retribution against a powerful crime boss, Foley navigates the treacherous underworld of a seedy casino empire. The narrative, while steeped in familiar tropes of revenge and loyalty, gains momentum through its exploration of survival and the bonds forged in the face of adversity. Mark Watson leads the cast, embodying Foley's hardened resolve, supported by Juliet Chan, Mike Abbott, Chen Sing, and Chen Hung Lieh. Despite its potentially derivative premise, "Mission: Blood Vengeance" promises a visceral cinematic experience, driven by intense action sequences and a compelling, albeit tragic, character arc.
