MIO PAPÀ

Cinemavixion Review

Giulio Base's 'Mio papà' offers a heartfelt exploration of unexpected fatherhood and the complexities of modern romance. Giorgio Pasotti delivers a compelling performance as Lorenzo, a man whose liberated lifestyle as a professional diver is profoundly disrupted by the arrival of Claudia and her young son, Matteo. The film excels in portraying the burgeoning, authentic bond between Lorenzo and Matteo, capturing the tender moments that redefine family. While the romantic connection with Claudia provides a conventional framework, it is the evolving paternal relationship that forms the emotional core. The narrative navigates Lorenzo's internal conflict between his cherished independence and the profound new responsibilities, resulting in an intense and touching drama that resonates with its relatable themes and strong central performances.
