MIKEY

Cinemavixion Review

Dennis Dimster's "MIKEY" plunges viewers into the unsettling heart of suburban dread, masterfully tapping into the primal fear of a monster lurking behind an innocent facade. Starring Brian Bonsall in a chilling performance, the film explores the dark side of childhood, where apparent innocence masks a capacity for unspeakable evil. As the mysterious deaths mount in a seemingly tranquil neighborhood, the narrative expertly builds suspense, keeping audiences guessing until the very end. Comparisons to "The Good Son" and "The Omen" are apt, as "MIKEY" shares their thematic resonance of corrupted innocence and the uncanny terror of a child gone wrong. The film's pacing ensures a consistently gripping experience, heightened by a palpable atmosphere of unease. For fans of psychological thrillers and child horror, "MIKEY" offers a potent and memorable descent into darkness, proving that sometimes, the most terrifying monsters are the ones we least suspect.
