MESSIAH OF EVIL: UNDEAD CULT (AKA DEAD PEOPLE)

Cinemavixion Review

Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz's "MESSIAH OF EVIL: UNDEAD CULT" (also known as "DEAD PEOPLE") plunges viewers into a disquieting atmosphere, following a young woman's unsettling quest for her vanished father. Her search leads her to a peculiar coastal enclave in California, a town seemingly held captive by a sinister, otherworldly cult. The film masterfully builds suspense, weaving a narrative of dread and isolation within its seemingly idyllic seaside setting. The performances, particularly from Michael Greer and Marianna Hill, anchor the descent into the uncanny, portraying characters grappling with a pervasive, creeping horror. This independent horror gem offers a unique, slow-burn exploration of the uncanny, where the mundane transforms into the terrifying, inviting audiences to unravel its mysteries alongside the protagonist.
