MESSIAH OF EVIL

Cinemavixion Review

Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz's "Messiah of Evil" emerges as a chillingly atmospheric horror film, a rare gem that continues to captivate audiences decades after its release. The film masterfully builds dread as a young woman's search for her father leads her to a desolate seaside town seemingly possessed by an ancient evil. The ensemble cast, featuring Marianna Hill, Joy Bang, and Michael Greer, delivers performances that are both unsettling and compelling, perfectly embodying the town's pervasive sense of unease. Though the exact year of its release may vary in different sources, its enduring power lies in its unique blend of occult mystery and psychological terror. The film's unsettling visuals and palpable tension, bolstered by a strong critical reception including a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, solidify its status as a cult classic deserving of rediscovery by horror aficionados.
