MEGALODON

Cinemavixion Review

In the crowded landscape of creature features, James Thomas's "Megalodon" emerges as a surprisingly engaging, albeit derivative, entry. The film pits a stoic military crew against the apex predator of prehistoric legend, a colossal shark awakened by human interference. The premise, while familiar, is executed with a commendable B-movie earnestness. Michael Madsen anchors the cast with his signature gruff presence, leading a crew that must improvise their defense against an unstoppable force. The plot, which centers on a submarine hunt gone awry, delivers a steady stream of tension and underwater peril. While "Megalodon" may not reinvent the shark attack genre, its straightforward narrative and commitment to its monstrous premise make it a watchable, if predictable, thrill ride for fans of the subgenre.
