MEGA PIRANHA

Cinemavixion Review

In the realm of creature-feature cinema, "Mega Piranha" emerges as a surprisingly engaging, albeit B-movie, spectacle. The film plunges viewers into the murky waters of the Amazon, where an unusually aggressive strain of piranha, amplified in size and ferocity, threatens the Florida coastline. The narrative, while predictable, is propelled by a commendable sense of urgency and the sheer audacity of its premise. The direction by Eric Forsberg and Stuart Gillard, though working within budgetary constraints, crafts sequences of escalating tension, particularly as the monstrous fish wreak havoc. The cast, featuring Paul Logan and the iconic Tiffany, commits to the outlandish scenario with a conviction that elevates the material beyond mere schlock. While critical reception, with an 8% on Rotten Tomatoes, suggests a niche appeal, "Mega Piranha" offers a campy, action-packed adventure for those seeking a thrilling, larger-than-life aquatic threat. Its straightforward, suspenseful plot and relentless pace make it a worthy watch for fans of the genre.
