MEATHOOK

Cinemavixion Review

In the modern slasher landscape, "Meathook" emerges as a compelling, albeit familiar, entry. The film centers on a "final girl" haunted by a past massacre, who is drawn back into the terrifying reality of her trauma when a new wave of killings mirrors the original horrific events. Her journey is aided by a true-crime podcaster, adding a contemporary layer to the classic slasher narrative. While the premise treads well-worn ground, the execution promises a fresh perspective on the genre, blending psychological depth with visceral thrills. This is a film for those who appreciate a well-crafted scare and a story that delves into the lasting impact of trauma, all while delivering the suspense and bloodshed expected from a quality slasher flick.
