MEATHOOK

Cinemavixion Review

This slasher offering, titled 'MEATHOOK', plunges into the familiar territory of trauma and terror, centered on a "final girl" grappling with her past. The narrative gains a modern edge with the introduction of a true-crime podcaster, a contemporary element that intertwines with the unfolding violence. The film attempts to blend psychological depth with the visceral thrills characteristic of the genre. While the premise promises a fresh take on the slasher trope, its execution relies on established conventions. Viewers seeking a straightforward, original slasher experience with a focus on a protagonist's resilience might find it engaging, though its impact is largely defined by its adherence to established genre frameworks.
