MCLINTOCK!

Cinemavixion Review

Andrew V. McLaglen's "McLintock!" stands as a grand testament to the Golden Age of Westerns, anchored by the inimitable John Wayne. Set against the rugged backdrop of the American West, the film masterfully blends humor and drama as Wayne's G. W. McLintock, a powerful rancher, navigates a territory teeming with land disputes, political intrigue, and personal entanglements. The narrative shines with its exploration of familial relationships, particularly the complex dynamic between McLintock and his estranged wife, Katherine, portrayed with fiery spirit by Maureen O'Hara. The supporting cast, including Patrick Wayne and Stefanie Powers, adds depth to this sprawling tale of a man who, despite his immense wealth and influence, finds himself wrestling with the simple desire to keep his world, and his family, intact. A true classic that offers both robust entertainment and a glimpse into the evolving frontier.
