MAYBE SOMEDAY

Cinemavixion Review

Ryan Moulton's 'Maybe Someday' presents a charmingly unconventional take on second chances, anchored by a compelling performance from Michael McKiddy as Hal Donnelly, a man adrift in his twenties. The narrative gains a peculiar, yet effective, momentum with the arrival of a precognitive daughter from the future, a device that injects both humor and poignancy into Hal's otherwise stagnant existence. McKiddy navigates Hal's journey from slacker to someone grappling with destiny with a nuanced blend of vulnerability and comedic timing. The film, also featuring strong turns from Kim Matula and Saige Ryan, explores themes of present-moment living and the acceptance of life's inherent uncertainties. Despite its modest production, the film resonates with a heartfelt message, offering a thoughtful, albeit fantastical, exploration of personal redemption and the unexpected paths to self-discovery.
