MAY

Cinemavixion Review

Lucky McKee's "May" offers a darkly whimsical exploration of loneliness and the desperate human need for connection. Angela Bettis delivers a tour-de-force performance as May, a socially awkward woman whose quiet desperation festers into a macabre quest for companionship. The film masterfully blends unsettling horror with a poignant, albeit twisted, portrayal of emotional isolation, making May's tragic descent both chilling and strangely sympathetic. Its blend of indie sensibilities and genre thrills, coupled with a memorable turn from Anna Faris, cemented its status as a cult favorite. "May" is a disquieting yet compelling character study that lingers long after the credits roll, a testament to its unique vision and unsettling charm.
