MARY ANN COTTON: THE BLACK WIDOW WITH A POISON TEA POT

Cinemavixion Review

Martina Cole, a titan of crime writing, brings her signature unflinching gaze to the chilling case of Mary Ann Cotton in this illuminating documentary. Dubbed 'The Black Widow With A Poison Tea Pot,' Cotton stands as one of history's most prolific and terrifying female serial killers. While officially convicted of a single murder in the 19th century, the true extent of her depravity is believed to encompass at least 21 victims. This includes not only former spouses but also her own children, a testament to her cold, calculated, and utterly chilling nature. Cole masterfully unravels the narrative, shedding light on a dark chapter of criminal history and the disturbing psychology of a woman who brought death to her own family.
