MARIONETTE LAND: THE MAGICAL WORLD OF ROBERT BROCK'S ENCHANTING THEATRE

Cinemavixion Review

"Marionette Land" presents a deeply personal and artistic journey into the world of Robert Brock, a man who dedicates his life to the enchanting art of marionette theatre. Residing with his mother, Mary Lou, above their whimsical theatre, Brock's passion is palpable as he orchestrates performances for both family audiences and, in a striking dual persona, transforms into glamorous Hollywood divas for a more mature crowd. The documentary beautifully captures the dedication required to maintain this unique theatrical tradition, especially as the theatre approaches its 30th anniversary. The narrative thoughtfully explores the personal and professional hurdles faced by Robert and Mary Lou, offering a poignant look at the challenges of preserving a beloved, albeit niche, art form in the modern era. It's a tender portrait of artistry, family, and the enduring magic of the stage.
