MANNY PUIG GOES HOG HUNTING WITH SPEARS & TRIDENTS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary-style footage plunges viewers into the visceral world of Manny Puig as he embarks on a thrilling hog hunt in Florida. Employing traditional tools like spears and tridents, Puig demonstrates a primal connection to the hunt, navigating the dense wilderness with a combination of stealth and calculated ambush. The presence of guides and trained dogs underscores the inherent dangers and strategic planning involved in confronting these formidable animals. Beyond the raw excitement of primitive hunting, the film subtly touches upon the ecological imperative of managing feral hog populations, which pose a significant threat to native ecosystems and agricultural interests. While lacking the polish of a mainstream documentary, the raw, unvarnished portrayal offers a compelling glimpse into a controversial yet historically significant practice.
