MAN BEAST

Cinemavixion Review

Jerry Warren's "Man Beast" plunges viewers into the icy depths of the Himalayas, following Connie Hayward's perilous search for her missing brother amidst whispers of the legendary Yeti. What begins as a standard expedition narrative quickly morphs into something far stranger, particularly with the introduction of the enigmatic guide, Varga. The film embraces its B-movie roots with a unique blend of adventure and creature feature, offering a narrative that, while perhaps not conventionally polished, possesses a certain B-movie charm. The plot twist, involving Varga's mysterious origins and his intentions towards Connie, provides a memorable, if unconventional, turn. While lacking the polish of larger studio productions, "Man Beast" stands as a curious artifact of 1950s independent cinema, rewarding those who seek out its peculiar brand of chills and thrills.
