MADAME SIN

Cinemavixion Review

Bette Davis delivers a commanding performance as the titular Madame Sin, a criminal mastermind operating from a gadget-laden Scottish castle. This 1972 made-for-television film, directed by David Greene, presents a stylish, albeit somewhat dated, espionage thriller. The plot centers on Madame Sin's attempts to secure global domination, thwarted by the resourceful CIA agent Anthony Lawrence, played by Robert Wagner. While the narrative occasionally leans into camp, the film is elevated by Davis's sheer presence and the intriguing premise of a female supervillain. The production offers a glimpse into the spy genre's evolution, with moments of genuine suspense and a distinctive visual flair, making it a noteworthy piece for fans of classic thrillers and iconic lead performances.
