MAD BAD

Cinemavixion Review

Jon Keeyes' 'Mad Bad' plunges viewers into a gritty underworld narrative, anchored by a compelling performance from Denton Blane Everett as an ex-con striving for redemption. The film masterfully weaves a tale of familial loyalty tested by the inescapable pull of past mistakes and the allure of illicit gains. Everett's portrayal of Justin DeMeers is nuanced, capturing the character's internal struggle between a desire for a legitimate life and the violent realities that surround him. The supporting cast effectively fleshes out the dangerous landscape, each character contributing to the escalating tension. While the film grapples with dark themes, it does so with a kinetic energy that keeps the audience engaged, offering a stark look at the consequences of choices made in the shadows. 'Mad Bad' is a potent reminder that escaping one's past is rarely a straightforward endeavor.
