LUST FOR LOVE

Cinemavixion Review

Anton King's 2014 romantic comedy, "Lust for Love," offers a charming, albeit familiar, exploration of romantic misadventures. Starring Fran Kranz as the earnest Astor, the film centers on his quest to win over his lifelong crush, Mila. When his initial attempts fall flat, Astor enlists the help of Cali (played by Dichen Lachman), Mila's former friend, who takes on the role of a unconventional dating coach. The narrative playfully delves into Astor's misguided strategies and the awkward, often humorous, situations that arise from his pursuit. While the premise treads well-worn territory, the performances, particularly Kranz's endearing portrayal of a man navigating the complexities of attraction, provide a solid foundation. The film, which garnered two awards according to external data, offers a lighthearted diversion for those seeking a straightforward romantic comedy with a touch of self-help absurdity. Despite a modest IMDb rating of 5.6, "Lust for Love" aims to entertain with its relatable themes of love, rejection, and the perennial quest for connection.
