LURKING WOODS

Cinemavixion Review

Rizal Halim's "Lurking Woods" plunges viewers into the heart of the Australian wilderness for a weekend getaway that quickly sours into a fight for survival. The film centers on six former university friends seeking to reconnect amidst idyllic natural beauty, but their reunion is soon overshadowed by a sinister presence. A mysterious, masked figure begins to stalk and terrorize the group, turning their planned "seek and search" game into a terrifying ordeal. As the narrative unfolds, it masterfully weaves suspense with unexpected twists, keeping the audience guessing about the identity and motives of the assailant. While the film may not boast critical accolades, its strength lies in its atmospheric tension and the palpable sense of dread that permeates the serene landscape, making "Lurking Woods" a compelling, albeit unsettling, watch for fans of suspenseful thrillers.
