Michael Damian's "Love By Design" is a charming, if somewhat predictable, romantic comedy that offers a glimpse into the high-stakes world of fashion and the enduring power of returning to one's roots. The film stars Giulia Nahmany as Danielle, a talented designer whose dreams in New York City are shattered by a backstabbing colleague and a lost opportunity. Forced to retreat to her native Transylvania, Romania, Danielle rediscovers her passion and herself, finding inspiration in her heritage and a budding romance with Adrian, played by the charismatic David Oakes. Nahmany delivers a commendable performance, navigating Danielle's journey from disillusioned professional to confident creator. Jane Seymour adds a touch of seasoned elegance as Vivian, Danielle's formidable editor. While the narrative treads familiar ground, the film's strength lies in its visual appeal and the warmth of its Romanian setting, juxtaposed effectively with the glitz and glamour of the fashion industry. The plot, co-written by Damian and Janeen Damian, culminates in a New York Fashion Week showdown, providing a satisfying, albeit unsurprising, resolution.
