LONE STAR DECEPTION

Cinemavixion Review

"Lone Star Deception" plunges into the cutthroat world of Texas gubernatorial politics, offering a tense narrative centered on Stuart Sagle's campaign and the unexpected emergence of Tim Bayh, poised to become the state's first Black candidate for governor. The film masterfully intertwines personal scandal with political maneuvering, as Sagle's affair threatens his aspirations, leading his uncle to devise a complex strategy involving Bayh. Eric Roberts, Anthony Ray Parker, and Gary Lee Mahmoud anchor the drama, navigating a treacherous landscape of assassination attempts and personal crises. Director Don Okolo crafts a compelling political thriller that explores themes of ambition, race, and survival, forcing Bayh to confront life-or-death decisions amidst forces beyond his control. It's a gripping examination of the sacrifices demanded by the pursuit of power in a high-stakes arena.
