LIZARD BOY

Cinemavixion Review

This darkly comedic horror offering, 'Lizard Boy,' dives headfirst into the bizarre consequences of scientific ambition and parental responsibility. The narrative centers on Dr. Gino Conti, a geneticist driven to extreme measures by personal crisis, who engineers a reptilian-human hybrid son. What follows is a descent into the chaotic challenges of fatherhood, particularly when one's offspring exhibits a penchant for cannibalism. While the film's premise is audacious, its execution leans into a campy, B-movie sensibility that might appeal to fans of unconventional horror. The performances, particularly from the credited cast, anchor the outlandish story, attempting to find the human (or perhaps, reptilian) drama within the mayhem. 'Lizard Boy' is a peculiar, albeit low-budget, exploration of nature versus nurture, wrapped in a package of genetic mutation and gruesome appetite.
