LE REIETTE

Cinemavixion Review

In "Le reiette," directors Peter Hutchings craft a narrative centered on a classic high school trope: revenge. The plot follows two academically inclined friends, Mindy and Jodi, who, after a humiliating prank orchestrated by the school's queen bee, decide to rally the other outcasts for a counter-offensive. The film explores themes of social hierarchy and the power of solidarity among the marginalized. While the premise is familiar, the execution hinges on the chemistry between the leads and the relatable struggle against perceived injustice. It's a story that champions the underdog, suggesting that even the most overlooked individuals can find strength in numbers when united against a common adversary. The film serves as a lighthearted, albeit predictable, take on adolescent power dynamics and the pursuit of social equilibrium within the high school ecosystem.
