LASSIE - A NEW BEGINNING

Cinemavixion Review

This 1978 film, 'Lassie: A New Beginning,' offers a poignant, albeit somber, chapter in the enduring Lassie saga. Directed by Don Chaffey, the narrative centers on orphaned siblings Samantha and Chip Stratton, whose lives take a dramatic turn after their grandmother's sudden death in an unfamiliar town. Left to fend for themselves with only their loyal collie, Lassie, as a companion, the children face the harsh realities of abandonment and the cruelty of their uncle, Stuart. The film delves into themes of resilience, the bonds of loyalty, and the courage found in unexpected adversity. While the external data provides a director and a more detailed plot synopsis, the core emotional journey remains consistent with the local data. It's a story that, despite its melancholic premise, highlights the unwavering spirit of its young protagonists and the comforting presence of their canine guardian.
