LAKE ALICE

Cinemavixion Review

"Lake Alice" presents a chilling yuletide gathering that quickly devolves into a desperate fight for survival. The narrative centers on the Thomas family, whose festive retreat to a remote cabin is shattered by an encroaching darkness. As old tensions and new fears surface, the idyllic setting becomes a claustrophobic trap where the bonds of family are tested to their absolute limit. The film explores themes of isolation and the hidden anxieties that can fester even during times of supposed joy. The performances, particularly from Eileen Dietz, Brando Eaton, and Peter O'Brien, navigate the escalating dread with a palpable sense of unease, drawing the audience into their harrowing Christmas ordeal. This is a tale that reminds us that sometimes, the greatest horrors are the ones we invite into our homes.
