LÀ-BAS

Cinemavixion Review

Guido Lombardi's "Là-Bas" plunges viewers into the stark reality faced by immigrants in Castel Volturno, a town often dubbed "the most African city in Europe." The film follows Youssouf, who arrives with dreams of joining his uncle Moses, only to find himself abandoned. His subsequent journey among fellow immigrants reveals a Italy far removed from the promised land. Drawing from real-life events, "Là-Bas" offers a poignant and intimate portrayal of the precarious hopes, unforgiving circumstances, and inherent resilience of individuals traversing continents in pursuit of a better existence. It is a powerful testament to the human spirit in the face of adversity.
