KING ARTHUR & CAMELOT: THE TRUTH BEHIND THE HUNT FOR A MYTHICAL CITY

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary embarks on a fascinating archaeological expedition, probing the enduring legend of King Arthur and his mythical court. It centers on the groundbreaking work of Leslie Alcock, who in the 1960s, employed innovative techniques to excavate Cadbury Hill in Somerset. The film thoughtfully explores the persistent question: was Camelot a tangible place, and Arthur a real historical figure, or are they purely products of folklore? By delving into Alcock's meticulous research and the historical context of the era, the documentary invites viewers to consider the intersection of myth, history, and the human desire for heroic narratives. It's a compelling look at how we seek to anchor our legends in tangible reality.
