KILLING BEEF

Cinemavixion Review

Samson Styles' "Killing Beef" is a raw and deeply personal documentary that chronicles his journey of reconciliation after surviving a near-fatal shooting. Transitioning from a former drug dealer to an award-winning journalist, Styles confronts the violence that marked his past, seeking meaning and forgiveness. The film serves as a poignant life lesson, shared through his experiences with a young boy, offering a powerful narrative on redemption and the complexities of gun violence within the Black community. While the external data lists the genre as 'Documentary,' the local data categorizes it under '5,6,7', suggesting a blend of drama, possibly social commentary, and biographical elements. Styles' dual role as director and subject imbues the film with an undeniable authenticity, making it a compelling, albeit somber, watch.
