Mario Bianchi's 'Kill the Poker Player' plunges viewers into a murky world of post-heist betrayal and serpentine vengeance. Set in the dusty, sun-baked town of Red Stone, the narrative follows Federal agent Alan Fields, adopting the guise of Jonathan Pinkerton, an operative for Lloyds of London. His mission: to unmask the elusive third partner in a brutal bank robbery, a thief who callously eliminated his accomplices. The film cleverly doles out clues as Pinkerton, known locally as Mr. London, navigates a treacherous landscape populated by a suspicious sheriff, a financially distressed rancher, a shifty hotel owner, and a doctor with an unsettling affinity for snakes. As Pinkerton inches closer to the truth, the body count rises, and he finds himself ensnared in a web of accusations. Robert Woods delivers a compelling performance as the determined agent, while the supporting cast, including Frank Braña and Nieves Navarro, adds layers to this intricate crime thriller. The film's atmosphere is thick with suspicion, and Bianchi masterfully builds tension, making 'Kill the Poker Player' a worthy, if somewhat overlooked, entry in the crime genre.
