Cinemavixion Review

In "Kidnapped By My Father," viewers are plunged into the harrowing true story of Jackie Salah's 1986 ordeal, a narrative of maternal fortitude against overwhelming odds. The documentary chronicles Jackie's courageous escape from an abusive marriage and her subsequent, decades-long fight to recover her three daughters, who were abducted by their father and taken to Saudi Arabia. The film unflinchingly depicts the emotional and legal battles Jackie faced, sustained only by sporadic contact through letters and photographs. It builds towards a powerful, albeit devastating, reunion in Yemen, highlighting the dire conditions the children endured. The story culminates in their perilous return to Wales, a testament to Jackie's unyielding spirit and the kindness of strangers through a crowdfunding campaign. This is a profound exploration of resilience, the enduring power of maternal love, and the devastating consequences of parental abduction, ultimately offering a message of hope and the indomitable strength of the human spirit.
