KEPLER'S DREAM

Cinemavixion Review

Amy Glazer's "Kepler's Dream" offers a poignant exploration of family, loss, and self-discovery, set against the evocative backdrop of a New Mexico summer. The narrative centers on an 11-year-old girl's quest for a rare book, a journey that mirrors her internal struggle to comprehend her fractured family dynamics and her mother's serious illness. Tailinh Agoyo delivers a compelling performance as the young protagonist, navigating complex emotions with a believable vulnerability. The film thoughtfully weaves themes of connection and acceptance, enhanced by a screenplay that highlights the significant contributions of women both in front of and behind the camera. While the plot may be contemplative, its emotional resonance and delicate handling of sensitive subjects make it a noteworthy cinematic experience, particularly for family audiences seeking a story with depth. The film's gentle pacing and atmospheric setting contribute to its overall charm, inviting viewers into Ella's world of quiet introspection and burgeoning understanding.
