KEPLER'S DREAM

Cinemavixion Review

Amy Glazer's "Kepler's Dream" is a poignant family adventure that delves into themes of loss, resilience, and the complexities of familial bonds. The film centers on Ella, an eleven-year-old sent to a New Mexico ranch, where she uncovers not only family secrets but also a profound understanding of life's unexpected turns. The narrative skillfully weaves Ella's personal journey with broader themes, including a compelling subplot about her mother's leukemia treatment, drawing parallels to the vastness of space and the courage required to face the unknown. Bolstered by strong performances, particularly from Holland Taylor as the stern grandmother and the young Isabella Blake-Thomas as Ella, the film offers a touching exploration of emotional growth. Despite its modest box office and mixed critical reception, "Kepler's Dream" resonates with its heartfelt message and the quiet strength of its young protagonist, making it a worthwhile watch for families seeking a thoughtful and emotionally resonant story.
