KENFIG: THE TOWN THAT DISAPPEARED
Cinemavixion Review
The documentary "Kenfig: The Town That Disappeared" offers a compelling glimpse into a forgotten chapter of Welsh history. It meticulously reconstructs the story of Kenfig, a town that flourished around a natural harbour for eight centuries, only to vanish mysteriously. The narrative skillfully explores its commercial success, the intriguing possibility of its ruins lying preserved beneath the sand dunes, and the historical context of conflict between Welsh inhabitants and Anglo-Saxon settlers. The investigation into the town's disappearance is particularly captivating, inviting viewers to ponder the forces, both natural and human, that could erase a community from the map. This exploration of resilience, change, and the enduring power of the past makes for a thought-provoking watch.
