JUST SWIPE

Cinemavixion Review

In 'Just Swipe,' director Elizabeth Blake-Thomas explores the complexities of modern romance under the isolating circumstances of a lockdown. The film centers on Vanessa, whose attempts at online dating take an unexpected turn when she develops feelings for a man she meets through a webcam. As the relationship deepens, Vanessa grapples with the unsettling realization that her charming digital suitor may not be entirely truthful, blurring the lines between virtual connection and authentic love. While the film delves into familiar themes of trust and deception in the digital age, its timely setting offers a fresh perspective on the challenges of forming genuine bonds when physical proximity is impossible. The narrative questions the very nature of intimacy when mediated by screens, prompting viewers to consider what truly constitutes a relationship in an increasingly online world.
