JOURNEY TO THE FORBIDDEN VALLEY

Cinemavixion Review

Ethan Wiley's 'Journey to the Forbidden Valley' plunges viewers into the remote, mist-shrouded mountains of Central China, a setting as captivating as it is perilous. The narrative unfolds in the aftermath of a plane crash, stranding a group of survivors, including a young Chinese boy and his guardian, in a land whispered to be the domain of the Yeren, an elusive ape-man. The film masterfully builds suspense as this legendary creature enters their lives, only for the fragile peace to be shattered by the arrival of ruthless poachers. Wiley crafts a compelling tale of survival, exploration, and the complex relationship between humanity and the unknown. Sasha Jackson and Douglas Tait deliver commendable performances, navigating the treacherous terrain and the moral ambiguities of their encounter with the Yeren. While the film might not boast major accolades, its adventurous spirit and the intriguing premise of a cryptid encounter make it a worthy watch for those seeking a blend of action and mystery.
