JOSHUA

Cinemavixion Review

Larry G. Spangler's 'Joshua' plunges viewers into the brutal aftermath of the Civil War, offering a stark tale of revenge. Fred Williamson embodies the titular Joshua, a soldier returning home only to find his mother murdered by a vicious gang. The film masterfully captures Joshua's transformation from a returning soldier to a relentless bounty hunter, driven by an unyielding quest for justice. Williamson's performance anchors the narrative, conveying a deep well of grief and steely determination. While the external data notes a Western and Drama genre, the narrative's core is a gritty revenge plot that resonates with the era's cinematic output. The film's exploration of post-war trauma and the corrupting nature of vengeance provides a compelling, albeit somber, viewing experience that lingers long after the credits roll.
