JOOKIN | STEP-UP LIKE DANCE MOVIE

Cinemavixion Review

Howard Bell IV's 'Jookin | Step-Up Like Dance Movie' plunges into the vibrant and often challenging world of street dance. The narrative centers on the strained relationship between sisters Charlene and Gwen, a dynamic complicated by Charlene's son, Quincy. As Quincy becomes entangled with the local street culture and the mesmerizing Jookin dance style, he finds himself drawn into a lifestyle that offers both allure and peril. The film features compelling performances from Osaze 'Agod' Niamke, Derrick 'Deuce' Keys, and Moonrise 'Kofi' Apprey, who bring authenticity to the urban landscape and the electrifying dance sequences. This is a story that explores familial bonds, the allure of the streets, and the expressive power of dance.
