JOHNNY Z

Cinemavixion Review

Jonathan Straiton's "Johnny Z" plunges viewers into a visceral world of horror and martial arts, delivering a unique take on the undead. The film centers on Johnny, a compelling half-human, half-zombie protagonist, whose quest for vengeance against the corporation responsible for his creation is guided by a seasoned martial arts master. Michael Merchant embodies the titular character with a performance that navigates the complex duality of his existence. The narrative, driven by a potent blend of visceral action and supernatural elements, explores themes of identity and retribution. While the film may not boast mainstream accolades, its commitment to its genre-bending premise and the dedicated performances, particularly from Merchant, make "Johnny Z" a noteworthy entry for fans seeking a fresh, action-packed horror experience.
