JITTERBUGS

Cinemavixion Review

Malcolm St. Clair's "Jitterbugs" offers a charming glimpse into the comedic genius of Laurel and Hardy during the wartime era. The film skillfully blends slapstick with a surprisingly intricate plot, as the iconic duo find themselves embroiled in a scam involving dubious 'gasoline pills.' Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy deliver their signature performances, navigating the absurdity with effortless chemistry. The narrative takes an unexpected turn towards heroism when they decide to aid a young woman swindled out of a considerable sum. While not a musical in the traditional sense, the Zoot Suit Band backdrop adds a unique flavor. "Jitterbugs" is a testament to the enduring appeal of Laurel and Hardy, providing both laughter and a heartwarming tale of rectitude triumphing over deceit.
